There are actually two Disc Golf courses in Red River – one on the ski mountaintop, reached by the chair lift, and the other one located in Mallette Park (entrance off High Street) hidden away in the trees.
The Red River Ski Area disc golf course has been at the top of the mountain for several years and was expanded to 18 “holes” last year, hosting the 1st Drew Judycki Memorial Tournament in September.
This year, according to Marketing Coordinator Sarah Dorrance, “We’re going to give it a little face lift.”
Some amateur tee pads will be added to make it more user-friendly and accessible for beginners. Some of the existing holes are long and the new tee pads will help shorten up the walk for people who have never played before. There will be disc rental at The Tip restaurant for newcomers who see people playing and want to try it.
