No, they are not the inner tubes from an old truck tire that you used when you were a kid and didn’t have a sled, and, yes, they are as much fun, or more, than an old and stinky inner tube.
They are high tech, molded and made of hard vinyl and polyester designed to last and take the punishment that laughing, kicking, screaming riders are capable of delivering.
At the Red River Ski & Summer Area, they are used winter and summer.
The fun starts after the Ski Area shuts down the chair lifts for the day at 4 pm at the Day Lodge at the end on Pioneer Road. The tubes are available most everyday of the winter season, depending on the weather.
Ride down alone or take a rider along for some extra exciting and unpredictable possibilities. Since they have no steering mechanism, the odds of traveling to the bottom of the hill in a straight line are slim. Spinning in circles, bouncing over bumps – tubing is better than a carnival ride!
