The high country of northern New Mexico is rich in wild game. The Sangre de Cristo mountains and Kit Carson forest surrounding Red River are home to many wild species, including deer, elk, wild turkeys, bear, antelope, mountain lions and bobcats. For those not familiar with the area, there are many guided hunts available.
