Michael Smith

A native son of the Texas Panhandle, Michael Smith has been a long-time fixture at the Bobcat Pass Cowboy Evenings and is one of the founding members of the Highway 38 Houndogs who play frequently at the Bull O’ the Woods Saloon and other local venues and events.

He has recently returned from a stint in the Colorado Springs area, playing and singing at various watering holes along the Front Range. He has moved back to the high country of northern New Mexico, with his wife and young son, who will probably become a cowboy trumpet player.

Since returning to Red River, he has ventured into the concert and promotion side of the business, bringing iconic Texas songwriter Robert Earl Keen to town.
