The McDowells and Calhouns have joined in a family partnership to purchase and reopen the Road Runner RV Resort property. While his main business is still selling real estate for Calhoun Real Estate, Beau McDowell is now operating the business, located on highway 578 (the road to the Upper Valley), with help from the rest of the family – wife Katie and in-laws Ted and Linda Calhoun.
The Road Runner is a 22-acre landscaped resort with amenities that include a tennis court, basketball courts, mobile home sales, full service laundry, storage facilities and picnic areas. The Red River also runs through the entire facility. It has 132 campsites and lots of space to enjoy the beautiful Red River scenery.
The park opened again in early June, 2014. “It’s a family-friendly place,“ Beau says, “and both families are involved in seeing that the park provides the kind of Red River experience folks deserve. We all see it as a very positive thing for this hospitality-based community. We want to uphold the amazing tradition and experience that the Youngs worked so many years to build.”
