RRSA Fun Summer & Winter

The Judycki Family is excited to announce that The Pioneer Flyer, a seated zip line, has been added to the list of family fun activities at the Red River Ski & Summer Area. The Pioneer Flyer was engineered by Soaring Eagle Zip Lines and was constructed in Red River this fall. It is expected to be operational the summer of 2015! It will add another opportunity for visitors to experience something new and exciting in Red River. Walt Foley, Deputy General Manager, stated, “This zip line will accommodate most people as long as they have upper body strength, thus allowing people that are not able to be on a harness zip line the opportunity to ride and enjoy the adventure of a zip experience.”

The carriages and towers arrived at the Red River Ski & Summer Area at the end of the summer and the construction began in earnest in October. This Face to Pond Zip Line originates from a ground level platform between the two ponds which provide a reservoir for snowmaking in the winter and trout fishing during the summer. The seated zip will cross over Pioneer Road and rise up on The Face above the Lift House. At the highest point this zip will be 70 plus feet above Pioneer Road. The Pioneer Flyer is a 730 foot zip which pulls guests backwards in seated duo carriages allowing four people to zip at one time. Once guests have reached the tower on The Face they are released to soar over Pioneer Road and the pond. “It is so exciting to have new construction and more adventures for our guests to experience,” said Karen Kelly, Director of Marketing and Guest Experience.

“Beginning in the spring of 2015, Hidden Treasure, an Aerial Ropes Challenge Course, will begin construction in the heart of Base Camp at RRSA and is expected to be operational this coming summer,” stated Linton Judycki, Resort Services Operations Manager. Challenge Towers Aerial Adventures has been contracted to design the course which will include a 400 foot harness zip line and three levels of elements. This course will offer something for every skill level.

Base Camp will continue to offer Summer Mountain Tubing which was designated by Tourism Cabinet Secretary, Monique Jacobson, as a New Mexico True Treasure when she and her family came to Red River Ski & Summer Area last summer.

The fun never ends both summer and winter at the Red River Ski & Summer Area.
