While you're here, make yourself at home. We encourage you to stay as long as you like. Here's some information that may make your stay more comfortable.
· If you have an emergency and need some professional help fast, pick up a phone and call 911. Red River emergency services are excellent, from the Marshal's Office to Fire, Search and Rescue and ambulance personnel.
· Town Hall is located in the heart of town on Main Street, next to the Red River Community House. It is built in the style of the old mine structures like the legendary Caribel Mine. In addition to housing town governmental offices, the Marshal's Office, the Fire Department, Emergency Medical Services and Search and Rescue are housed in the building.
· The Red River Chamber of Commerce office is also located off the Main lobby in Town Hall and has lodging info, restaurant listings, brochures, special event information, trail maps and forest information available.
· If you have need of medical assistance, Mogul Medical Clinic offers full clinical services and specializes in the treatment of Altitude Sickness, a common problem for "flatlanders" that can be easily remedied before it ruins your vacation. The clinic is located at the foot of the "Face," in the Lift House building of the Red River Ski Area and is open everyday during most of summer season and staffed by P.A. Matt Prewitt.
· There are three churches in town. Red River Baptist is the newest addition to the community and is located on the west side of town by the river and across the road from Brett's Restaurant. Faith Mountain Fellowship - look for the tall, white steeple on Copper King Trail - is a non-denominational church which conducts a regular schedule of worship services year-round. St. Edwin's Catholic Church is the scenic little log church located at the end of Silver Bell Trail. During summer months, services are also held on Sunday at the Red River Community House. Check the Bulletin Board in the weekly Red River Miner newspaper for a full schedule of services.
· In need of a little extra cash? Centinel Bank of Red River is located at the corner of Main Street and Copper King Trail. In addition to full banking service, they have an outdoor ATM machine. ATMs can also be found on Main Street at J. Griffin Co. which boasts a gasoline station, convenience store and public internet access site, and at Der Markt, Red River's grocery store.
· The Red River Public Library is located on East Main at "The Y" and is open to the public year-round. In addition to a great collection of books, there is free Internet service available and an ongoing book sale by Friends of the Library.
· Park your car when you get to town and leave it. Ride the Miner's Transit, a great way to get around town, see the sights and enjoy the fact that you don't have to drive the car to get everywhere worth going. Relax and let Edgar or Yolanda do the driving.
· You'll probably find that radio reception in the mountains can be problematic. Listen to Red River Radio KRDR-FM (90.1) for a variety of music and a calendar of Red River events and news.
