Lodges The Sportsman's Lodge has new owners, but they're not new to the valley. Mark and Kelly Drummond came to Red River from Oklahoma City seven years ago with their young son Tanner and have been managing a lodge on the town's east side. When the chance came to buy the Sportsman Lodge, they didn't hesitate. Their goal is to the provide the same mountain-style hospitality to visitors that has been their trademark for the past seven years. They also invite the many friends they've made over the years to look them up at their new digs.The Drummonds symbolize Red River's future. They aren't just passing through on the way to somewhere else: they came to build a future for themselves and contribute to the quality of life in the high country. The River's Edge Lodge Best Western on River Street has a new owner and manager and the Black Bear Inn is the new name for the Valley Lodge on West Main Street. The Golden Eagle Lodge is also under new management by the Commanders. Eateries The Outlaw Restaurant, serving lunch and dinner, is located on High Street, near Town Hall. Open since December of last year, it has a wide selection of cuisine and chef's specialities plus gourmet desserts, pastries and Custom ordered cakes. (Great burgers and salads, too.) Tia Buena is located between Go Kart City and Calamity Jane's on West Main. Their specialty? Burritos, Burritos and more Burritos. Mt Treasures Gallery, Coffee House and Bistro, next to Ponderosa Lodge, has again expanded, adding beer and wine to their menu, as well as some other food items, including ribs! Onota Bakery Coffee Haus & Gifts is located in the Capo's Restaurant complex on Pioneer Road and will offer espresso, cappuccino and home-baked goods. Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory has moved to their new location next to Millers Crossing in the Alpine Lodge complex on west main. Yummy as ever! Under new management by James and Rhonda Murry, the Pioneer Emporium on West Main has ice cream, along with sodas, coffee and gifts, all in an Internet cafe setting. Saloons The Bull O' The Woods Saloon has expanded with a Beer Garden for adult refreshment and beautiful scenery for relaxing.Shops/Amusements McInnis & Sons, makers of fine wooden boxes and chests, has moved next door to Texas Reds - just look for Mike's Climbing Wall out front.![]() |
