Always Lots to Do
Here’s a little list of some things to do in Red River during the summer. Any combination will assure you of a great time. For more information, try the Red River Chamber of Commerce office in Town Hall or the Enchanted Circle Interpretive Center in the Conference Center.
Shopping heads the list as the #1 Indoor Sport in Red River, with dozens of great shops and stores carrying souvenirs, clothes, art, crafts, jewelry, candles, candy, small Hessian mercenaries... well, you get the idea. Get your Christmas buying done early: Go home and brag.
There are a ton of Special Events sponsored by the Town and the Chamber of Commerce. See pages 4 and 5 for details. There are also special events put on by local businesses like the Bull Riding series held at ”the Y” on Red River Stables grounds and musical concerts like Cross Canadian Ragweed and Micky and the Motor Cars.
Live Entertainment is always your best deal. Check out the Melodrama and Red River Sings with Fagan & Fritz at the Mineshaft Theatre in the Red River Inn; (See page 12 for more live music details.)
The Red River Community House offers nightly square and round dancing, special swing dances and musical shows, card games and lectures on nature and town history. It’s all part of the good clean fun that has been the RRCH trademark since 1942. Everyone is welcome.
Built in the mid-1930s, the Black Mountain Playhouse is a genuine Arcade, with arcade games, video games, pool tables, roller skating and a miniature golf course. Check out their Go-Cart City on Main Street, too.

Feel like a night at the Movies? Fort Lincoln Compound on East Main has two different shows a night, moderns and classics. Get a good seat. Eat popcorn.
Need to get the kinks out after a long drive to the mountains? Try a deep tissue Massage from one of Red River’s licensed professionals.
Relax in a nice, toasty Hot Tub. Several lodges and hotels have them and there is even a service that will bring a portable tub to you: Heaven on East Main at “the Y” has unique wood-fired tubs on trailers, ready to be unloaded at your feet.
