August 11-13 -Cruise the Rockies - They’ll be driven’ Cruisers and they’re coming from a dozen states and the planet Zargonia. Red River’s own Public Emily will welcome the PTs their formal cruise through the high country of Northern New Mexico.
August 17-19 -Hot Chili Days, Cool Mountain Nights - It’s the 4-Corners Regional Chili Cook-Off and Music Festival, in its 4th year. Texas troubadour Larry Joe Taylor and songwriter friends will be singing for their hot chili supper. Great tunes and heartburn on tap. Life is gooood.
September 9-10 - Bike Weekend - It’s a two-wheeled festival, the Century Tour - 100 miles around the Enchanted Circle - for road bikes and the Top of the World for mountain bikes.
September 14-16 - Jeep Jamboree - Organized by the Jeep folks, this annual 4-wheel-drive gathering occurs as the leaves are starting to turn with warm days and chilly nights, a fine time to trek to the high country meadows. P.S. Wave at the elk.
September 30 - October 1 - Aspencade Festival - The annual Arts & Crafts show in the park featuring artists and crafters from the Great Southwest, live entertainment, tasty food and drink and the golden aspens on the mountainside is perfect for fall fun.
October 6-8 - Oktoberfest - Add strudel and delicious bratwurst, suds from area breweries with spirited oompah music and Columbus Day weekend becomes one last great party before the snows of winter. Warm you hands around the bonfire in the park. Ski season won’t be far behind!
