If you have a taste for the works of true artists and master craftspeople, youll be happy to find that the soul of art is alive and growing in Red River.Red River Gallery of Fine Arts Long a destination for high country art aficionados, the Red River Gallery of Fine Arts, located by the river on the ski area road, houses the works of the multi-talented Wyatt family. Internationally renowned painter and sculptor Kenneth Wyatt is best known for his Western and Christian art; he is a retired minister. His landscapes, portraits, still lifes and character studies are in the collection of Presidents, Congressmen, the Queen of England, celebrities and major corporations around the globe. According to cowboys who know their trade, Dr. Wyatt is one of the best painters of the horse in Western art. Kenneth did his undergraduate studies at Tarleton University in Stephenville, Texas, and McMurry University in Abilene, Texas. Graduate work was done at Baylor University in Waco, Texas. and Iliff School of Theology, Denver, Colorado. He received his Doctorate of Fine Arts from McMurry University. Dr. Wyatt and his wife, Veda, whose work can also be seen at the Red River Gallery, live in Tulia, Texas. His main gallery and studio are in Tulia as well as his foundry, Y-8 Bronze, and his publishing company, Y-8 Publishing Co. Gallery manager Roseanne Cooksey welcomes one and all to drop by and enjoy. Blue Moon, Too Located next to the Motherlode Saloon, constructed in 1936 as a bar, dance hall and casino by "Big Tony" Simion, Blue Moon Too is the sister store of The Blue Moon, the original "Moon" store located in nearby, historic Cimarron. The shelves are filled with Southwest edibles, candles, cards, books and hand-painted one-of-a-kind gift ideas. In addition, Blue Moon Too offers a large selection of pottery, most of it created by area and regional artists. There are also paintings by local artists like Rick Fowler and Leroy Featherston.
