![]() Red River's official photo studio, Southern Exposure, has expanded its excellent product line into the modern age of Digital Photography and can now make prints and photo CDs from your digital media. They will, of course, still process and print your film camera work. Come by their photo booth located on the second floor of the Red River Ski Area Chalet and check out the new machine that can print digital images or from film. It's nifty. Got a minute? Stop by Timberline Lodge on High Street and meet Leslie and Julie Lewis, the new owner/managers. It's their first winter in town. If you haven't heard the news, and you haven't been down Main St. and seen with your own eyes, it is true that Texas Reds Steakhouse, a Red River landmark and social institution, suffered a devastating fire in early November. The building is a loss, but the spirit of TRs is strong. Keep your eyes open in the future and don't be surprised with what you see. They will rise from the ashes - hopefully by Christmas. Two other restaurants have closed their doors since last winter: the Alpine Lodge Restaurant and the Timbers. There are, however, still plenty of great places in town to satisfy your hunger. The Lodge of Red River is not new, but Chef Weldon is cooking up a storm of good eating with some delicious twists. The Lodge Bar in the same building has undergone remodeling and added live entertainment on Fridays, Saturdays and special occasions. The music starts around 6 PM, so get there early or listen from the dining room. Speaking of spirits, Roberto's Restaurant in Lifts West and Mountain Treasures Art Gallery, Coffee Bar and Bistro have added beer and wine to their menu. Also give a hungry look to Sub-A-Bubba, located on east Main St, a new addition this past summer. Last things last: the Red River Conference Center has a new look on the outside of the building. It has also added a larger kitchen facility. |
