Now Celebrating 45 Years Tony the Tiger

A HAPPY BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION

This is your personal invitation to join in our special celebration of the Red River Ski Area's 45th birthday. Join us for a season-long party with fireworks, exciting ski races, special ski packages, Mardi Gras in the Mountains with parades and bead tosses, and the annual Spring Beach Party. Don't miss out on all the fun.

"HOW MUCH DOES THE MOUNTAIN WEIGH?"

"WHERE DO YOU HIDE THE MOGULS IN SUMMER?"

So, what do you want to know about "The Mountain?" There are some things we don't know, but we can answer some questions. Check out these factoids and use them in conversation to impress your friends and astound total strangers who will mistake you for a local.

          * Top Elevation is 10,350' with a Base Elevation of 8,750' which provides a Vertical Drop of 1,600'.

          * Average Annual Snowfall (twenty-year average) on the mountain is 218 inches. That's over 18' of snow: Do the
             math or take our word for it.

          * Lifts: 4 Double Chairs, 2 Triple Chairs, 1 Surface Tow with a Lift Capacity of 7920 riders per hour.

          * There are 58 Trails: 30% Expert, 38% Intermediate, 32% Beginner.

          * Snowmaking machines can cover 87% of the RRSA terrain. Contrary to popular belief, manufactured
             snow is REAL SNOW, not fake snow, and it is more resilient than Mother Nature's snow.

WHAT & WHERE

The Red River Ski Area Chalet is located at the foot of "The Bump" and houses the Main Office, Lift Ticket Sales, the Ski Rental Area, a Retail Store for all your accessories, the RRSA Cafeteria, and the Southern Exposure Photo Booth which can meet your film and digital camera needs.

The Lift House, located by the river at the base of "The Face," is a great place to warm up with your favorite grog at the full-service bar or grab a tasty burger. Check out the new and enlarged upper-level deck for a great view of the slopes, as well as the best vantage point from which to watch the exciting spectacle of the Torchlight Parade every Saturday night (7 PM) and on special holidays. It's the best free show in town.

If you find yourself getting hungry while riding the Red Chair Lift, stop at the top and grab a bite at The Tip Restaurant. PS. The view is incredible!
