What Happens in Summer? Mountain Biking

"What do you do around here in the summer time?" That's not an unusual question to hear from winter visitors to the high country. There are folks who have only been to Red River during the snowy season and have never seen spring, summer or the gorgeous colors of aspen autumn here at the top of the world.

What do we do here in summer? Pedal mountain and road bikes on the trails and roads around the Enchanted Circle, or rent a surrey and see the Little Red School Museum and other historic sites in town; ride horses through the woods; take jeep and ATV trips to the high country and see old abandoned mine sites and cabins from the goldcamp glory days; fish for rainbow, cutthroats and german brown trout in the chilly mountain streams and high lakes or in the river that runs through the heart of town; camp out in the wilderness, far from cell phone range; race like an Unser in the go karts and play video games or do a round of miniature golf; hike the canyons and watch the deer, bear and birds in their home environment; go rafting in the raging Rio Grande.

That's just a few things. Life is to be enjoyed. Enjoy it in Red River.
