Here are some great ways to add enjoyment to your winter stay in Red River. If anyone asks you what you're doing, tell them a "local" turned you on to the simple joys of winter in the mountains.
o Turn on the faucet. Drink the water. It's freezing but delicious.
o Make snow angels in the park or a snowman on the hood of your car.
o Rent a special hi-tech "tube" at the Red River Ski Area and slide the slopes.
o Take a walk in the snowy woods by the river. Don't fall in - it's cold.
o Ride the Miner's Transit and see the sites.
o Check out a Torchlight Parade at the Red River Ski Area
o Wander into the forest and yodel. Go alone to avoid being snowballed.
o Watch the ducks in the river or the ponds around town.
o Keep an eye out for deer, day or night. P.S. Leave them alone: they're wild.
o Have a picnic in Mallette Park. Eat some Hostess SnoBalls. (Or don't.)
o When asked at dinner if you want "Green" or "Red", say "Christmas" and see what happens.
o Have fun. Enjoy Life. Come back and see us sometime.(Tell your friends.)
