Last September work began on a new asphalt pump track in Mallette Park where the old and damaged tennis court was. The pump track and upcoming skate park were both designed by American Ramp Company, with the pump track being built by Velosolutions, the exclusive track builder for Red Bull’s Pumptrack World Championship races!
“Pumptracks are not just for teenagers! These youngsters loved their time on the new pump track in Mallette Park. Sure it may seem scary at first, but within a few minutes time and with encouragement and supervision from their parents, they’re quickly smiling and want to come back. This is great for our community and come Spring, the adjoining skatepark will be complete and Red River will have a ribbon-cutting ceremony to officially open the new site!”
Plans are to complete the skate park as soon as the weather warms up.
Red River’s new skate park is perfect for all sorts of fun, already attracting skateboarders, inline/roller skaters, BMX, dirt jumpers and MTB riders, and even one crazy guy on a OneWheel.
