Enchanted Forest
Before the John and Judy Miller opened the Enchanted Forest Cross Country Ski & Snowshoe Area opened for business on Bobcat Pass in the winter of 1985-86, Nordic skiing as it is officially known had been going on in Red River for several years.

Currently observing its 31st year of operation, the EFXC area is still in the Miller family and offers 33k of groomed ski trails, 15k trails for snowshoeing and 5k of trails where you can ski with your dog.

Open 7 days a week 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., there’s a warming hut with a ski rental/apparel/accessories shop located at the Base Camp and they also offer Yurts for nightly lodging if you are looking for that special glamping treat.

EFXC offers the finest in the Nordic skiing experience with trails for skiers and snowshoe enthusiasts of all abilities. Lessons are available. Enjoy access to miles and miles of backcountry trails with some spectacular views of Wheeler Peak and the Northern New Mexico high country.

Special events during winter include the Christmas Night Luminaria tour, the Just Desserts Eat & Ski event and full moon tours.

Summer yurt rentals are available now for reservations starting April 29. Hiking and mountain biking are always available on the Enchanted Forest trails, no fee required.

EFXC is currently working on a Master Development Plan intended to guide the development of the Enchanted Forest over the next 10+ years.
