Yes, Yurts! Summer, fall, and in the snows of winter, the EFXC offers a unique adventure in lodging and the finest of “Glamping” experiences. A traditional yurt (from the Turkic languages) is a portable round tent covered with skins or felt and used as a dwelling by several distinct nomadic groups in the steppes of Central Asia. They were the choice of dwellings for Genghis Khan and his hordes as they swept across Eurasia as far as Poland, Russia and Bulgaria.
The EFXC has recently added a new yurt, bringing the available number for lodging to three. The newest addition which came last summer is the Latir Yurt, and it can accommodate up to eight people.
Be prepared to be dazzled by the scenery, the sounds of the forest and the night sky. At 9,000+ feet the constellations and galaxies are stunning!
